In recent days I have come to understand that there is a huge distinction between My Lord, the Holy Spirit, and My Savior. I honor my Savior as the One who has rescued me from a destiny of hell. I have faith in Him and know that I am saved.

My Lord, however, is my Shepherd. He has authority over me. He is my leader and if that is so, then He expects me to stay with the flock.

The Holy Spirit has anointed me to repel the negative and demonic influences that attack us.

Remember, the line, “He leads me to the still waters”? He knows all the places I should be and the actions I should take to have a very comfortable life. He has given me all the rules and plenty of examples of what happens when I get off course. Just stay with the herd!

I know this! It is in the rule book, but that is where I mess up! I am a wandering sheep! God just keeps coming after me and putting me back in the flock where I can be protected and have still water so I will not get into the swift rapids. Many folks are wandering sheep, but they have no herd.

I am challenging myself and others to find those wandering sheep—those who do not have a Shepherd to keep them in the shallows or to show them the way of the Shepherd. Let them know that God cares and our Church cares. Let them know we can help them find green pasture and peace and have their fears relieved.

Wandering sheep need a flock and God has tasked us as the Church to find them, witness to them, take them in, and care for them. The Holy Spirit will anoint them and repel the influence of evil.

How to Become a Christian

Sometimes people ask you, “How do you become a Christian?”  Here is an example of what you can talk to them about.

A Christian is a follower of Jesus Christ. A Christian has a growing relationship with Jesus Christ, tries to obey him in all things, and draws on His strength to help with problems.

God made us for Himself and our souls are restless until they find rest in Him. Only God can fill the void in your life. The answer to your search is accepting Jesus Christ as the  Lord and Savior of your life.

To become a Christian, you need to know these basic facts from the Bible.

1. God loves you. John 3:16/Ephesians 2:4-5

2. You are a sinner. Isaiah 53:6, Romans 3:10

3. Sin separates you from God. Isaiah 59:2, Romans 3:23

4. You can’t save yourself. Ephesians 2:8-9. Titus 3:5, Romans 4:4-5

5. God sent His son Jesus to remove the sin barrier. 1Peter 2:24, Romans 5:8, 2 Corinthians 5:21

6. You can receive Jesus Christ through faith. John 14:16, acts 16:31, Romans 10:9–10

7. Through prayer you can trust in Jesus Christ.

Read these Bible scriptures. Admit to God that you are a sinner. Express sorrow or repentance for your sinfulness. Ask Him to forgive your sins. Invite Jesus into your life as Savior and Lord. Thank him for entering your life. Commit yourself to live for Him.

Plan Your Intimate Moment with GOD.

Tonight is the night to set aside 10 minutes.  Put the timer on your phone and set your alarm for 10 minutes.  Open yourself to the word of God.

God is the Word and the Word is God.

John 15:4-5

Abide in Me, and I in you.  As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.  “I am the vine; you are the branches.  He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.”

Reading all of 15 should take up your only minutes of your 10-minute commitment, so with the time remaining, pray that God will “prune” your branch, which means clean and start anew.  Open your heart to new practices that involves communicating with God every Wednesday and in doing that, your faith will grow, and you will begin to share the intimate moment with God more often.  He will speak to you, comfort you, and live in you.
